Ebates??

So today is a bit of an untraditional post for my blog, but this blog is about my life - and a big part of my life is buying for myself and my family and becoming financially free eventually and saving money where I can. It's all part of the mom responsibility! ;-)

If you are like me and tend to shop online a lot (I don't like the crowds and I am so impatient), you could be saving money (a lot of times they have great deals on the website that isn't in the store - not to mention wider variety!) and earning cash back on your shopping with Ebates.

So you may be wondering “how does Ebates work?” All you have to do is shop as you normally would but go to the store through a link on Ebates.com. This is necessary so that Ebates gets credit for your purchase. The merchant gives them a commission on your purchase for referring you to the store. Instead of keeping the entire commission, they share some of it with you by giving you cash back.

The reason this all works is because everyone involved benefits. The merchant benefits because you are encouraged to shop at their site with the promise of earning money back on your purchase. Ebates benefits because they earn commission on your purchase, and you benefit because they share the commission with you.

Cash back shopping is a great way to increase your savings by earning additional money back on top of any available coupons. When you click on a store, you will see all the coupons that are currently available, and you can use those just as you normally would. For example, I had a 20% off coupon at Nordstrom.com and I also shopped through Ebates and earned 5% cash back on my purchase. This brought the total savings up to 25%.

I have been using Ebates since 2012 and have earned a decent amount money on my purchases over the years. I buy all kinds of things online from flights to toiletries to clothing. Almost everything I buy online is available through one of the stores on Ebates. They have over 1,200 participating stores, so you will definitely find one that has what you are looking for.

When I shop online, I always check to see what stores sell the item I want and I compare to see which store offers the most cash back. Each store offers a different percentage of cash back, so it is worth checking to see which one has the best offer.

If you do not currently use a cash back site, you are leaving money on the table. When I first joined, I could not believe how simple it was and I really appreciated the bonus check I got in the mail every three months. You can get your cash sent to PayPal now which makes it even faster and easier. You can use the cash towards anything you like, so it is better than a rewards program where you have to use points to buy items that you might not really want. Nothing is better than cold hard cash.

I hope this post cleared up the question, “how does Ebates work?” It is definitely a legitimate site and I have only had positive experiences using it. Here are no hidden catches or any scams involved. I have saved a lot of money over the years, and that is really all there is to it.

You can sign up for Ebates right now by clicking the sign up form. Do not purchase another thing online before signing up because you could be earning cash back right now.

Thrifty - frugal - money savers unite!

Thanks!
